What is SiMPL?
SiMPL is Innova’s application for material planning in SAP. It brings statistical demand forecasting, the planning monitor, MPS and MRP execution, planning master data and the bulk conversion of planned orders together on a single screen, on SAP ECC or S/4HANA, without exporting anything to a spreadsheet.

Requirements forecasting
Statistical forecasting for the sales plan. The S&OP module calculates future demand from historical consumption using nine statistical models —from simple average to trend with seasonality— and picks the best one material by material. Selection is automatic but gated: a seasonality model only competes if the material’s history justifies it, and the thresholds are calibrated per customer without touching code. A single error metric, the percentage deviation across the months already closed, makes every material comparable. The alternative forecast panel shows all nine candidates with their deviation so the planner decides: the machine proposes, the person signs. It includes control over the history considered, exclusion of periods without consumption and neutralisation of negative quantities. It replaces «what we sold last year plus ten percent» with a defensible number, with its margin of error in plain sight.
Planning indicators
Finished goods at risk of running out in the next three months. Raw materials sitting on more than ten months of coverage. Spare parts below the reorder point or already at zero. These are the questions a planner starts the day with, and answering them has always meant the same thing: launch a report and wait. Working those situations out across thousands of materials is a lot of information, and it falls out of step with every MRP run. SiMPL keeps them alive. You pin the situations that matter to your home screen and each one greets you with its figure up to date, aligned with the latest MRP run; if the figure has fallen behind, the tile says so instead of letting you believe it is fresh. You come in and see only what needs attention. Double-click the figure and you land straight in the detail, without going through the parameters screen. No more starting the day waiting for a report to find out whether there is work.
S&OP, Demand Management and Forecasting.
It is possible to load and analyze sales forecasts (for finished products) or consumption forecasts (for consumables or spare parts) manually in a super user-friendly interface or through spreadsheets for massive updating. By configuring analysis variants, it is possible to consult information structures (standard and non-standard) for plan vs. actual comparisons, totalizations, averages, graphs and even customize reports on any logistic transaction within SAP.
Projected lot maturity
SiMPL uses a layered FEFO inventory analysis algorithm to anticipate lot expiration risks, based on needs, to take action and avoid loss of material and money. The function that accelerates ROI! in case of companies such as pharmaceutical, food and beverage.
Planning Monitor
The detailed, multi-material planning situation over the desired time horizon and period. With details of all stock types, requirements, receipts, valuation and alerts on failures or over-coverages. For planning materials by order point (e.g. spare parts), intuitive icons to quickly identify the simulated coverage situation or projection, based on historical consumption. For manufacturing scenarios, accounts with the analysis of the capacity situation for the balance at the work centers.
Planning functions
With SiMPL you can run planning (MPS, MRP or MRP Live) for each of the selected materials. Analyze the result according to different selection rules (e.g. without purchase requisitions) and at various levels when BOMs are contemplated. It is possible to download the information, analyze the planning in monetary values and analyze overdue documents that affect the planning.
Planning master data
The planning results depend to a large extent on the quality of the data in the planning views of the materials. Therefore SiMPL ensures the possibility to visualize and modify this data. With advanced functions for key fields such as lead time, reorder point or maximum stock, where it is possible to automatically and massively recalculate based on historical SAP actual data.
Conversion of planned orders
SiMPL simplifies the management of material requirements. SiMPL enables mass conversion of planned orders, using grouping criteria, resulting in summarized and manageable purchase requisitions. SiMPL uses a layered inventory analysis algorithm with FEFO logic. Basically, it discounts the planned inventory requirements of the first lot to expire and, if at the exclusion date (which can be before the expiration date if you wish), inventory exists, it is considered at risk of expiration.
