In standard SAP, field configuration in the material master is mainly limited to the definition of required, optional or suppressed fields per material type and plant. This does not allow the application of logical or conditional rules (e.g. “if the material type is X, then field Y must have a value Z”), nor advanced validations without technical development.
As a result, companies face recurring data quality problems, such as materials with incorrect units, valuation categories that affect financial reporting, materials without batch traceability. Validating or defining rules often requires ABAP developments that are not scalable, easy to modify or fast.
These rules are usually in the memory of one or two users or in an outdated pdf since the original implementation.
SiDM Materials allows you to define unlimited field rules, 100% functional, that do not require any technical or programming knowledge, and that allow you to guarantee the correct value in each field as soon as the material is created.
And now, with our Databricks integration, by applying Artificial Intelligence to the system’s historical data, it is possible to automatically predict, through machine learning algorithms, the correct value for most of the fields that follow a pattern of behavior adjusted to the needs of the business.
